Job Title: Aviation Airport Relations/Community Engagement

Location: Dallas Love Field Airport

Schedule: Monday - Friday availability

Pay: $19.00/hour

Responsibilities: The City of Dallas Department of Aviation is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented high school student to join our Airport Relations/Community Engagement team for a summer internship. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience in the dynamic world of aviation outreach. You will work alongside experienced professionals on a variety of projects related to building/maintaining relationships, community engagement and event planning at Dallas Love Field Airport and Dallas Executive Airport.

• Participate in site visits and meetings with tenants, concessionaires, community members and other stakeholders.

• Assist with project coordination and provide administrative support to the Airport Relations/Community Engagement team as needed.

• Assist the Airport Relations/Community Engagement team with general outreach activities, including event planning, community meetings and events.

• Research, compile and maintain accurate/up-to-date contact lists for airport notification projects.

• Prepare newsletters, presentations, and other communication materials for internal and external audiences.

• Conduct research on industry trends and best practices in airport marketing and communications.

• Regular, reliable, and punctual attendance is an essential function of the job.

Job Requirements

• Prior work experience in a related field (community engagement, outreach, real estate) is preferred, but not required.

• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.

• Strong analytical and research skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required.

• Ability to diplomatically interact with City officials and City of Dallas staff at all levels. (required)

• Interest in aviation and/or community engagement is a plus.
