Job Description
Immaculate Conception St. Joseph is currently seeking middle school coaches for the upcoming season. Coaches will:
- instill in the student-athlete a sense of responsibility by expecting consistently high standards of teamwork and behavior and making the student-athlete aware and respectful of the needs of others;
- enhance the commitment level in the student-athlete by directing him/ her to an acceptance of the goals of the team and an appreciation of the needs of his/her teammates, coaches, opponents, and officials;
- nurture selfless behavior in the student-athlete by requiring that his/her actions on and off the playing field be consistent with the goals of the team as a whole and not be directed towards individual honors;
- promote a willingness to dedicate their time and energy towards the fulfillment of shared goals;
- teach fundamentals, strategies, rules, and fitness according to an athletes appropriate skill and conditioning level;
- consistently model the Positive Coaching Alliance's (PCA) framework of a Double-Goal Coach®.
- Previous successful coaching experience preferred.
- Ability to effectively teach the skills, strategies, and techniques to middle school student-athletes.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, Athletic Director and other ICSJ coaches.
