GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
Assists the Director of Advising in the overall leadership and management of the Academic Advising Department. Assists in the implementation, analysis, and effectiveness of policies, procedures, and professional development for the department.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s Degree
- Education or working knowledge of student development theories and practice
- Three or more years of part-time or full-time academic advising experience
- Leadership, management, or supervisory experience in a higher education setting
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, OR REGISTRATIONS:
- Two or more years of community college work experience
- Possess an understanding of the Guided Pathways Framework
- Experience working on interdepartmental committees or teams
- Flexibility to work on other campuses as needed

Responsibilities:
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist the Director in the overall leadership of the academic advising functions of the department
- Assist the Director in developing and implementing strategic planning, goal setting, and advising performance measures for the department
- Assist the Director in formulating and implementing departmental policies and standard operating procedures
- Oversee and supervise day-to-day departmental operations and advising
- Model core values for NACADA
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director or other appropriate administrator
- Although a supervisory position, may still directly provide academic advising support to students
- Identify and support advisor training, professional development, and adherence to inclusive, proactive, holistic advising practices and NACADA core competencies
- Coordinate new student orientation and other advising events
- Assist with the analysis of effective case noting and student appointment data for continuous improvement within the Guided Pathways Framework
