Acadia (NYSE:AKR), headquartered in Rye, New York, is a fully-integrated, self-managed and self-administered real estate investment trust. Through our REIT and Opportunistic Fund investment platforms, we are focused primarily on the acquisition, ownership, redevelopment and management of retail properties, including neighborhood and community shopping centers, urban high-barrier-to-entry street retail, and mixed-use properties with retail components.
ABOUT THIS ROLE
Acadia is actively seeking a full-time Associate to join its Acquisitions team and assist in all aspects of the real estate acquisition process. This is an onsite position based in Rye, New York.
Key responsibilities include:
- Evaluating and underwriting potential acquisitions, redevelopments, and ground-up developments to be presented to senior management
- Building institutional quality financial models using Excel and Argus
- Assisting in the acquisition due diligence and closing process
- Writing detailed Investment Committee memoranda
- Assisting in the execution of the post-acquisition business plan.
- Assisting in placing debt on individual assets.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with outstanding academic performance from a top tier undergraduate institution. Majors in Finance, Economics or Business preferred.
- 3-4 years of experience in a structured analytical work environment. Prior experience at an investment bank, consulting firm, REIT, real estate finance or real estate private equity firm a plus.
- Outstanding financial analysis, underwriting and modeling abilities
- Demonstrated analytical/quantitative skill-set
- Highly effective organizational, interpersonal and communications skills
- Intimate working knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint; Experience with Argus a plus but not required
- Executive presence; comfortable speaking and presenting to senior management team
- Self-motivated, team-oriented, attentive to detail, and capable of handling several tasks independently and simultaneously
- Excellent collaborator; works well with a team
- Self-starter, demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize workload
The base salary compensation range for this role reflects the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to, skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each individual. A reasonable estimate of the current base salary range for this position is $110,000 to $125,000.
Employees may also be eligible to participate in an annual discretionary bonus program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
