RESPONSIBILITIES:
We are looking for an Associate to join our leading Consumer practice within the Mergers & Acquisitions Service Line. Work on a variety of transactions in all stages, from initial client pitches to transaction closings.
- Communicates industry trends, financial information, key deal points and complex strategic issues in a clear, concise, and relevant manner to assist and guide decision-makers in corporate finance transactions
- Ensure quality of client deliverables by having a strong attention to detail
- Be a self-starter and proactive while mentoring and developing staff - analysts and junior associates
- Individuals will be assigned a wide variety of projects and given as much responsibility as their experience and capabilities permit
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in an investment banking (M&A / Private Capital Markets / Leveraged Finance), corporate development role, or transaction advisory services provider with demonstrable M&A process experience
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting.
- MBA a plus but not required
- Technical Skills – development of three-statement financial models (DCF / LBO) as well as public company comparable and precedent M&A transaction analysis. In addition, ability to synthesize client / prospect provided information into meaningful data-driven product (e.g. pitch decks, confidential information memorandums)
- Commercial Skills– interfacing with internal team members, clients and third parties to provide analytical and qualitative support to drive transaction processes forward
- Leadership Ability – managing both “up” and “down” on a daily basis, regularly reporting to senior staff members on where key project deliverables and milestones stand while developing analysts to associate-level potential
- Active FINRA Series 79 and 63 licenses required, Series 7 preferred but not required at time of hire
- Consumer Industry experience preferred, but not required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in MS Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
