SUMMARY

The Assistant Treasurer, Corporate Treasury (the AT), reporting to the Corporate Treasurer, is a highly visible corporate finance position that will lead development and implementation of the company’s capital structure strategies, capital markets and funding activities, pension management strategies and global cash flow generation. In particular, this role will work closely with finance and business leadership to assess business cash generation, investment requirements and funding needs, leverage internal analytical capabilities and investment banking advisors to determine an appropriate liquidity profile and optimal capital structure, develop and execute capital markets funding and capital return strategies, and drive strategies to address key external constituents including credit rating agencies. This role will also work with internal constituents and advisors to oversee and develop strategies to optimally manage global pension liabilities and other post-retirement obligations, as well as drive global working capital performance and cash flow generation. This role will also serve as a key advisor on corporate finance and capital structure matters to senior leadership, corporate development and other business partners.

REPSONSIBILITIES

• Determine the optimal capital structure to support the business, ensuring that the company has appropriate financial flexibility, leverage and credit ratings, adequate liquidity and a cost of capital that will allow the company to drive growth and achieve its long-term business plan. Drive the capital structure dialogue with external investment advisors, senior business leadership and the Board.
• Lead the company’s global cash flow and balance sheet analytics, including running the global direct cash flow process that drives day-to-day decisions regarding regional liquidity needs as well as the cash flow forecasting and planning processes that underpin longer-term business planning that support capital structure and funding decisions.
• Design liquidity structures that ensure the company has sufficient primary and secondary sources of liquidity to fund the business plan and meet financial obligations. Lead global liquidity stress testing and related mitigation plans to ensure the company has adequate available liquidity including cash and committed credit in relevant jurisdictions.
• Determine and manage the company to targeted credit ratings and appropriate leverage. Lead credit rating agency strategy and dialogue, creditor discussions and provide credit-related input for dialogue with other constituents, including shareholders and investment community.
• Lead the design of global liquidity plans, including capital structure planning for primary overseas businesses and repatriation plans, partnering with Business Treasury, Corporate Tax, Controllership and Treasury Operations teams to implement global liquidity plans.
• Research and recommend appropriate return of capital strategies, including dividend policy and share repurchases.
• Develop and update the company’s capital structure / cost of capital model as well as the company valuation model, which will inform key strategic and corporate finance decisions including investments, acquisitions and share repurchases.
• Drive working capital performance, supporting the business finance teams, the collections and payments teams, supply chain and other constituents to improve working capital and generate incremental cash flow.
• Develop and implement global policy and governance around working capital solutions, including customer and supplier payment terms, supply chain finance, factoring and other financing alternatives.
• Partner with internal constituents and external advisors to oversee the company’s global pension liabilities, develop strategies to optimize these liabilities and address them over time.
• Lead development and execution of the company’s funding plans, including global credit lines and other bank financing, public markets funding activities as well as share repurchases execution and other equity transaction activity.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field with minimum of 10+ years of relevant experience; or high school diploma with minimum of 15+ years of experience
• Exposure to capital structure, capital markets, pensions and some familiarity with credit rating agencies / process
• Understanding of working capital, key drivers and optimization tools
