Title:Assistant Professor (without Tenure) - Neuromuscular Neurologist

Position Details

Position Description

The Department of Neurology at the University of Washington School of Medicine is seeking an outstanding clinical Neuromuscular Neurologist to work at the University of Washington Medical Center. This is a full time (12-month service period) appointment at the Assistant Professor (without Tenure) rank. This individual will be a member of a busy academic service performing a wide variety of clinical duties including general neurology, muscular dystrophy association/amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, electrodiagnostic, autonomic disorders, and neuromuscular disease clinics as outpatient attending. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research, and service.

Assistant Professors are eligible for multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. The base salary range for this position in this title will be $17,790 - $20,203 per month ($213,480 to $242,436 per year), commensurate with experience, discipline, and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. Our salaries are bench marked based on the AAMC scale. Other compensation associated with this position may or may not include Startup, Relocation Incentive/Moving Allowance Administrative supplement for a defined administrative role, or Productivity Incentive.

The anticipated start date for this position is July 1, 2024.

Qualifications

Requirements include:

  • MD or DO or foreign equivalent degree, eligibility for medical licensure in the State of Washington, and certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in Neurology and Neuro-Oncology (or eligibility to sit for the United Council for Neurologic Subspecialities accrediation)
  • In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
