The Department of Mathematics is seeking applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Mathematics. The position will start September 2024, and includes a regular nine-month teaching load of about 33 quarter credits of undergraduate mathematics and statistics courses. The candidate will also advise undergraduates and supervise undergraduate research projects. Tenure-track faculty members are also expected to establish and maintain a program of research/scholarship and to serve and participate actively in the life of the department, the College of Arts and Sciences, and the University.
Requirements:
- Ph.D. in Mathematics, Statistics, or a closely related field. ABD candidates may be considered.
- Strong commitment to excellence in undergraduate education.
- Candidates in any specialization are encouraged to apply. Preference may be given to candidates with expertise in areas of data science, statistics, or applied mathematics.
- Compatibility with SPU's ecumenical Christian mission as expressed in the SPU's Statement of Faith. Candidates are required to submit a faith statement with their application.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Preference given to candidates with the versatility to teach a wide range of topics in mathematics and statistics, including introductory statistics courses.
- Experience with diverse populations and issues in equity.
- Experience supporting underprepared students for success in college-level mathematics.

Salary Range: $65,000-74,000
Faculty salaries at Seattle Pacific University are based on nationally-normed, regionally-adjusted, and discipline-specific data from the College and University Professional Association for Human Resources (CUPA-HR). Specific salary offers will be determined by level of education and years of relevant experience.
