Job Description: At Pregis all employees are valued members of the team and will receive semi-annual written evaluations on how their performance contributes to Pregis Films achieving its goals. Assistant Operators are expected to assist the Operator in running their assigned machines safely in accordance with published work instructions and deliver quality product to plan.
Responsibilities

• Set-up and operate extrusion lines and support high-quality product.
• Reviews order specifications to ensure the correct packaging supplies and raw materials are available to produce a product that meets the customer's specifications.
• Observes and checks finished film coming off the production lines and takes immediate corrective action to eliminate the causes of a sub-standard product.
• Remove and package finished rolls from machine.
• Monitors equipment to ensure it is operating properly and under supervision of the Lead Operator performs routine maintenance on equipment.
• Complete daily production paperwork and troubleshoot stoppages and breakdowns.
• Under the direction of the Lead Operator may train team members correct operating procedures, safety, and quality policy procedures.
• Learn and comprehend all equipment so adjustments can be made if/when needed.

Quality

• Adhere to and comply with Good Manufacturing Practices as outlined at Pregis Films.
• Perform all aspects of the position to the highest quality.
• Report any non-conformance to Supervisor immediately.
• Know all quality standards and expectations of the position and if not sure, ask the supervisor before continuing.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 2-5 years' manufacturing experience in a production environment.
• Knowledge of resins and their properties preferred.
• Extrusion, W&H Film lines experience preferred.
• Able to work any 12-hour shift.

Physical Requirements
Requirements include, but are not limited to (all times are approximate):

• Sitting (1-2 hours).
• Standing (Constantly - up to 12 hours).
• Walking up/downstairs (several times daily).
• Walking (Constantly up to 12 hours).
• Lifting/Carrying (regularly up to 12 hours - a minimum of 75 lbs.).

Safety
• Safety is our #1 priority at Pregis.
• Everyone is responsible for safety, if you see an unsafe act, stop it immediately.
• Conduct your work according to the assigned work instructions. If you are not trained how to do a task, do not do it. Inform your supervisor immediately.
• A clean workstation is a safe workstation. If you use something put it back it its spot, pick up trash and clean your workstation as needed.
• Fill out "Near Miss" cards if you see an unsafe condition, potential safety hazard, or an incident where personnel could potentially be hurt; actions will be taken
to correct safety hazards.
