Assistant Controller – Job Description

Financial firm in southeast Cleveland suburb seeks full-time, detail-oriented, well-organized mid-level financial / accounting professional, responsible for supporting the finance function with a career path to Controller.

Experience in a Registered Investment Advisory (RIA) firm or the financial industry is a plus, but not required. Position may work full-time in-office or be a hybrid of in-office and at-home work.

Responsibilities:

• Perform financial reporting and operational metrics tracking
• Responsible for various financial processes
• Report directly to CFO and work closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting
• Analyze past results, perform variance analysis, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvements
• Identify and drive process improvements, including the creation of standard and ad-hoc reports, tools, dashboards
• Liaison with outsourced vendors and CPA's
• Report on financial performance and prepare for regular leadership reviews
• Analyze financial data and create financial models for decision support
• Guide the cost analysis process by establishing and enforcing policies and procedures
• Work directly with CFO to help lead finance transformation activities and design and build critical processes.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
• Prior experience in a similar capacity or at public accounting firm (3+ preferred)
• Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or NetSuite
• Strong experience working in a variety of business systems / applications
• Experience with Microsoft Office productivity suite
• Strong analytical and data gathering skills, and independent thinker
• Self-starter with excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills
• Must satisfy background check requirements.

Pay: From $90,000.00 per year
