Duties Include:
As an Assistant Controller, you will be:
- Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting:
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial reports in accordance with accounting standards and company policies.
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to support management decision-making.
- General Ledger Management:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the general ledger.
- Record and reconcile financial transactions, including accruals and prepayments.
- Monitor and maintain the integrity of the financial data.
- Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Support the development of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
- Collaborate with various departments to gather relevant financial information for budgeting purposes.
- Analyze budget-to-actual variances and provide explanations for deviations.
- Internal Controls:
- Assist in the design and implementation of internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Conduct periodic reviews of financial processes to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
- Audit Support:
- Prepare schedules and documentation for internal and external audits.
- Collaborate with auditors to address inquiries and provide necessary information.
- Tax Compliance:
- Support tax compliance activities, including the preparation of tax returns and documentation.
- Stay informed about changes in tax regulations and ensure the company's adherence to tax laws.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with the operations team, providing guidance and support to understand their financial performance
- Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvement within the accounting department.
- Implement changes to streamline financial processes and enhance efficiency.
To qualify for an Assistant Controller with us:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation is a plus.
- Minimum 3-5 years' experience in accounting and financial management, preferably in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
