Location: Brooklyn, New York

Summary/Objective:

Assists the Branch Manager in managing bank branch by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

Essential Functions: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Oversees the flow of cash and financial instruments in accordance with company policy.

Assesses risk of all financial transactions executed by organization personnel.

Collects data to analyze the present and future financial status of the organization.

Directs, coordinates, and monitors activities to implement institution's policies, procedures, and practices concerning granting or extending lines of credit, commercial loans, real estate loans, and consumer credit loans.

Directs activities involving implementation of establishment services and functions including collecting delinquent accounts, authorizing loans, or opening savings accounts.

Establishes procedures for custody and control of assets, records, loan collateral, and securities to ensure safekeeping.

Contacts customers and business, community, and civic organizations to promote goodwill and generate new business.

Compiles and reports financial data as required by organization and government regulations.

Prepares reports needed to satisfy tax requirements.

Examines, evaluates, and processes loan applications.

Raises capital as needed by the organization.

Analyzes investment options and makes recommendations to Board of Directors or corporate officers for institution investment.

Talks to customers to resolve account problems.

Establishes and maintains contact with banking-related industries such as insurance, real estate, and securities.

Communicates with stockholders and other investors.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This job has no direct supervisory responsibilities. However, under the guidance of the Branch Manager, the Assistant Branch Manager helps to manage subordinate employees in the Branch. Assist in the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Physical Demands:

This is largely a sedentary role, requiring use of typical office equipment such as a computer, laptop and cell phone. Most work is completed in an office environment. Walking around the office and talking to employees and supervisors is required.

Travel Requirements:

Required Education and Experience:

Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language/Communication Skills:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Fluency in Cantonese and/or Mandarin.
