OVERVIEW
CWMF has a need for a motivated Design Engineer to help support continued growth. A successful candidate will be someone who can thrive in a fast-paced environment, has a positive attitude, and has a continuous improvement mentality. Design Engineers will work independently, assist on project teams, and lead project teams to develop new products and improve current products.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develops equipment and specifications according to external or internal requirements.
- Research new technologies to improve the capabilities of current products.
- Establishes equipment standards to improve economies of scale across product lines.
- Creates 3D parts, assemblies, and drawings using Autodesk Inventor.
- Works with Production to ensure products are designed for manufacturability.
- Reviews and analyzes specifications, sketches, drawings, ideas, and related design data to determine factors affecting component designs.
- Confers with staff and supervisors to resolve design or other technical problems.
- Coordinates and works in conjunction with coworkers to design, layout, or detail components and systems.
- Assists Designers with engineering technical support.
- Modifies and revises designs to correct operating deficiencies or to reduce production problems.
- Analyzes equipment's structural integrity using finite element analysis (FEA) and other calculation tools.
- Utilizes various tools to ensure mechanical drive components are specified appropriately.
- Design and release Production Jigs, Fixtures, and Tools as needed.
- May travel to the customer site to assist in field measurements, start-up, or troubleshooting as required.
- Interacts with customers to discuss various design concepts and solicit feedback on designs.
- Supports other departments as requested including Purchasing, Sales, and Production.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous experience in Engineering design or related field required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or similar degree preferred; significant experience in lieu of bachelor’s degree will be considered.
- Experience in heavy machine design preferred.
COMPUTER SKILLS
- Working knowledge of 3D modeling software required; Autodesk Inventor experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ERP system(s).
