Boulder County Public Works Department is seeking to hire a Asset Management System (AMS) Coordinator. The AMS Coordinator provides coordination and technical support in defining, governing, implementing, maintaining, enhancing, and integrating the county's new GIS centric Asset Management System application (Cartegraph) for the Boulder County Public Works Department. They are the key point of contact on AMS configuration and implementation, monitoring application performance, coordinating with the vendor to troubleshoot bugs and malfunctions, and providing on-going maintenance, update, and user/technical support. They also assist staff in customizing fields and meeting data analysis and reporting needs in AMS and other applications and datasets.
This is a full-time, benefited position.This position will work Monday - Friday8:00am - 5:00pm. This position will be based out of 2525 13th Street Boulder, Colorado, with the option for a hybrid schedule working remotely. Under Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) guidelines, this position is exempt.
Boulder County requires its employees to reside in the state of Colorado as of the first day of work.
2024 Hiring Salary Range: $77,616.00 - $94,680.00 Annually

- Implements Cartegraph Asset Management System
- Develops and oversees the governance of AMS including policies and procedures in collaboration with I.T. and Parks & Open Space Departments
- Manages and coordinates the deployment, implementation, design, and configuration process for new geographic information systems (GIS) centric AMS (Cartegraph) across multiple work groups in Public Works (including Transportation Infrastructure, Engineering, Road Maintenance, Fleet, Stormwater, Building Services, Facilities Management and Resource Conservation)
- Works with asset owners across the department to identify asset hierarchies, develop asset characterizations, performance measures, and maintenance categories, and set standards and methodology for asset assessments in AMS
- Works with Cartegraph to configure, implement, troubleshoot, and update the AMS
- Assist with data input and integration from GIS and non-GIS sources, including some spatial and attribute editing, schema development and GIS organization
- Communicates project and/or application problems/issues to key stakeholders including management, third party vendors, end users and team leads
- Develops technical documentation including, but not limited to, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, populating knowledge database solutions, and creating end-user instructions
- Provides user training and support for Asset Management software, including field data collection, work order management, asset condition assessments, and data query/reporting
- Assists maintenance personnel with developing work order processes and maintenance tracking through key performance indicator dashboards, reporting and analytic tools
- Provides expertise and translates the business needs to design and develop tools, techniques, metrics, and dashboards for insights and data visualization
- Supports the department with data analysis and reporting in the AMS and the incorporation of the outputs into the department's business processes and decisions
- Collaborates with other county departments using AMS
- Helps oversee the work of the AMS vendor
- Tracks and assists with acquiring, maintaining and fixing associated hardware and licenses for AMS
- Protects county operations by keeping information confidential
- Performs related work, as required
- May be reassigned during emergency situations
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Boulder County is looking for well qualified candidates to fill our positions. Any combination of relevant education and experience is encouraged. In this position, we are looking for a minimum of a high school diploma (or equivalent) and 3 years of experience in coordinating, designing, implementing, customizing, and maintaining an Asset Management System. Additional related education may count toward required experience.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Geographic Information Systems, Software Development, Project Management, Data Management, Computer Science, or related field corresponding to asset management
- Proficiency in data visualization software or with other business intelligence toolsets that integrate and report on data from multiple systems
- Working knowledge of Project Management
- Experience writing SQL scripts, and stored procedures
- Experience in Asset Management System implementation and maintenance
- Experience coordinating and communicating with a variety of AMS users and facilitating discussions to achieve desired outcomes Experience with ESRI GIS technology and desktop software, as well as ArcGIS Online
- Demonstrated knowledge of spatial data concepts, cartographic principles and mapping techniques
- Demonstrated knowledge of GIS based mapping and data Management Systems
- Very strong customer service orientation
- Excellent written, oral, interpersonal and presentational skills
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
- Ability to establish effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work

- Ability to troubleshoot a variety of problems, learn new applications quickly to ensure adequate support and maintenance
