The internship will be with the Asset Management Systems & Governance (S&G) Team, part of the Operations Excellence Group which supports Newmont's global portfolio of assets. The S&G team comprises of three main functions: Organizational Capability, Technical Governance & Support Services, and Enterprise Asset Management Systems. Interns may work across any combination of these functions, along with S&G Management, and potentially in a cross-functional capacity with other Asset Management, Corporate, or Site teams.
Possible projects include:
Organizational Capability
Design and develop Asset Management training content and videos, utilizing AI capabilities, for various training campaigns
Support the rollout of the global Asset Management Development Program, specifically the continuous improvement efforts to analyze program success and incorporate feedback
Assist with SharePoint site design and stewardship to house training courses and course materials
Technical Governance & Support Services
Support development and management of technical documents, procedures, and standards in conjunction with subject matter experts across the organization
Work with team lead on emerging priorities and key projects, such as risk management and control programs
Enterprise Asset Management Systems
Support the evaluation of new and existing EAM technologies and systems and the maintenance of existing Enterprise Asset Management Systems and associated master data
Collaborate with IT, Supply Chain, Finance, and Site partners on global alignment of SAP functionality and specifications

Graduate students, or undergraduate students who have completed at least two full years of undergraduate course work in Mining, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Technology, Business Administration, or other relevant disciplines. At least a 3.0 GPA or equivalent
Strong communication and interpersonal skills; comfort engaging with leaders and global teams
Strong written communication skills; capable assembling presentations, reports, and other forms of formal documentation
Strong technical skills for data analysis; experience with Excel, SAP, Tableau, Power BI, or other enterprise software and technologies preferred
Experience in Asset Management and/or mining industry preferred; passion to learn and grow
Strong organization, project and time management skills
Proficiency in Spanish or French preferred but not required
Valid work authorization to work in the United States for this position
Summer intern positions begin in May 2024 and conclude in August 2024. The exact dates are flexible depending on each student's availability and our business need. Our internships are full-time paid positions (40 hours/week).
This internship is based at our corporate headquarters in Denver, CO, however remote-work options are available based on candidate locations. It is possible some travel may be required to Newmont's US sites. There is ample opportunity for internal networking within our company.

The salary range offered for this role is USD $23.80 (Freshman) - 43.26 (PhD). The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate's salary history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about salary history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.
This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company's performance and their own individual performance.
