Accounts Receivable & Payable/Billing Specialist
Children’s Dental is seeking a billing and finance specialist who is able to do a range of A/R, or A/P and billing tasks to support the accounting team which may include:
- Enter Checks
- Submit Claims
- Prepare Deposits
- Write and track checks
- Utilize QuickBooks
- Follow up on customer billing questions
- Work closely with the Billing Specialist to reconcile accounts in Open Dental according to CDS policy.
- Process and record credit card bills
- Organize and pay bills
- Organize and process payroll
- Oversee printing statements
- Maintain payment plans
- Receive donations, prepare thank-you letters, maintain accurate records.
- Support the grant team as needed
- Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices.
- Coordinate with Accounts Payable to ensure that finances are in order and record keeping meets the requirements of auditors and government agencies.
- Maintain HIPAA and PCI compliance
- Prepare for Annual Agency Audit
- General office support including but not limited to organization, cleaning, and remaining flexible in a changing and fast paced environment.
Qualifications Sought:
- 1+ years of Accounts Receivable or Billing experience
- High school diploma required college degree preferred
- Must have strong work ethic
- Must be well organized and a self-starter
- Must be able to follow standard filing procedures
- Detail oriented and reliable
- Proficient in Microsoft and Office Suite
- Ability to type 50 wpm
- Possess strong organizational and time management skills
- Strong problem-solving skills, basic accounting principles knowledge, documentation skills, research and resolution skills, data analysis and multi-tasking skills
- Thorough knowledge of applicable accounts payable/general ledger systems and procedures, financial chart of accounts and corporate procedures
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Ability to interact with employees and patient families in a professional manner
- Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
- Experience with QuickBooks
- Leadership skills a plus
