The Billing Specialist will provide analysis and collection of Senior Living and Health Care (SLHC) facilities Accounts Receivable. Completion of facility monthly billing and month end reporting for corporate office. Assist with training of facility staff on duties essential for monthly billing and reporting. Monitoring on-sight activities and reporting for accuracy.

Essential Job Functions Duties and Responsibilities
- Analyze monthly A/R for assigned SLHC facilities
- Monthly billing of Private Pay, Medicare, Medicaid and Managed Care for SNF and ALF facilities
- Backup other billing offices in the event of turnover
- Responsible for collection of all A/R and adherence to company collection policies and procedures
- Handle all census input and follow up on missing census information including prior authorization and Medicare/Medicaid eligibility
- Enter monthly charges, cash receipts in Point Click Care EHR system
- Perform month end close and provide facility accountant with required month end reports and journal entries
- Assist with facility staff training on duties essential for accurate billing and other reporting
- Assist facility staff with questions
- Provide customer service for residents and/or responsible parties
- Pre-Audit work for facility internal audits including, review of all business office functions including payroll, billing practices, accounts payable procedures, and collections
- Test and evaluate facilities practices to ensure compliance with HIPAA, Code of Conduct, Wage and hour and CMS regulations
- Audit for legal and company policy compliance
- Review facilities admission packets to ensure all required documents are included
- Instruct Admissions Coordinators on proper completion and timeliness of documents
- Other duties as assigned
Language Skill:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as Medicare and Medicaid billing guidelines, policy and procedure manuals, and software training documentation. Ability to write routine reports and collection correspondence. Ability to speak effectively in small groups of employees of the organization, with resident’s family members and facility personnel. Ability to communicate in written or spoken form to various payer office personnel.
Mathematical Skill
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Education and Experience
- 2+ year of Skilled Nursing billing and collections, including Medicare, Medicaid and Insurance billing
- Technology proficient including Excel, Word and Skilled Nursing billing software, including UB04s and clearing house portals
- Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance
- Must be capable of performing the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations
