Job Description
Bucks County Smiles, a leading dental practice in the area, is currently seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Appointment Coordinator. This is a full-time position that requires the candidate to work on-site at our dental pratice. As an Appointment Coordinator, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional customer service, coordinating appointments, and ensuring smooth operations within the practice. We are a fee for service dental practice and patient care is our #1 priority.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain appointment scheduling system accurately and efficiently.
- Greet and welcome patients, either in person or over the phone, and assist them in scheduling appointments.
- Answer incoming calls and respond to patient inquiries in a professional and courteous manner.
- Verify insurance coverage and collect necessary information from patients to ensure accurate billing processes.
- Coordinate with dentists, hygienists, and dental assistants to optimize the daily schedule.
- Monitor and manage waiting room to ensure patient flow and minimize wait times.
- Assist in preparing and maintaining patient records, ensuring all necessary documentation is complete and up-to-date.
- Collaborate with the administrative team to ensure effective communication and efficient workflow.
- Follow up with patients regarding missed appointments, rescheduling, and necessary reminders.
- Handle any necessary administrative tasks or special projects assigned by the practice manager.
Requirements
- Prior experience in a similar role, preferably within a dental or medical practice.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to empathize and effectively communicate with patients.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient in using appointment scheduling software and general computer applications.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with insurance policies and billing processes is a plus.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification is a bonus.
- Positive attitude, team player, and a willingness to learn and adapt.
