This posting is for a Principal Application Systems Analyst on the IT Applications' Strategic Alignment and Coordination Team. The primary responsibility will be project leadership of the Epic Updates among other duties to ensure and demonstrate project value.
This is hybrid position in the Salt Lake City, UT area. Candidate should be local to the area, or willing to relocate.

Principal Application Analysts are experienced in Application Analysis and repeatedly demonstrate the ability to independently analyze and produce accurate and thorough project documentation and deliverables, including project benefits, feasibility, requirements, scope, risks, and justification. Principal Application Analysts demonstrate a solid understanding of the organization's products, clinical/ business processes, and development life cycle. They mentor and are sought out by less experienced analysts for their product and application analysis knowledge. Principal Application Analysts typically are assigned complex projects and/or situations that have a high degree of customer exposure or company liability. They may work on multiple projects simultaneously This position has no responsibility for providing care to patients.

Responsibilities
- Leads and participates in team, project, operational and stakeholder meetings that include duties related to projects and daily operational activities.
- Delegates system issues and routine work orders to junior analysts for resolution. Mentors junior analysts to complete routine tasks on time with quality outcomes.
- Leads and manages projects and teams. Executes high complexity and larger impact. Applies project management methodology and utilizes standard project management for software in development and maintenance or project plans. Demonstrated ability to lead teams across applications and organizational units outside of ITS.
- Documents data elements, data movement, interfacing applications and shared data elements. Develops process controls, implements security processes for supported applications. Demonstrates mastery of application and system integration points as well as master files. Guides and mentors existing and new team members.
- Leads the implementation of complex features and new projects. Analyzes new functionality in releases to determine how/if it should be used. Presents information to stakeholders and governance for prioritization and approval.
- Performs intake of information regarding potential system enhancements. Researches and analyzes new functionality including alternative solutions and recommends options to stakeholders and governance for prioritization and approval. Assists with all aspects of implementation life cycle.
- Expert knowledge and working build experience in assigned applications. In depth understanding of system integration with internal and external applications.

- Bachelor's degree, or a clinical discipline (nursing, pharmacy, advance practice clinician); or equivalent knowledge and skills obtained by education, training and direct experience in healthcare IT.
- Ten years experience in an applicable clinical or business related healthcare or healthcare IT function.

- Experience or certification using or working with Epic or another electronic healthcare system.
- Experience with hospital workflow analysis for development of electronic solutions with assigned applications.
- Experience organizing and managing detailed information and working with and leading teams.
