Exeter ITS is seeking an Alternate Program Manager / Web Designer to provide the U.S. Army with a robust capability to execute a modern digital media program that successfully operates in a complex, ever-changing communication environment. The Alternate Program Manager / Web Designer will enable the Army's official digital media platforms (Army.mil, CORE content management system, and @USArmy social media accounts) to be the go-to sources for the Army's news, information, and experience. The Alternate Program Manager / Web Designer will develop digital media campaigns or strategies which guide the day-to-day platform operations and the development of high-quality content optimized for publishing on specific platforms (such as Army.mil or @USArmy social media. The digital communication approaches shall be collaborative and synchronized with the Office of the Chief of Public Affairs (OCPA) strategic communication processes and across the Army's communication enterprise. The Alternate Program Manager / Web Designer will work to improve and expand the Army's digital footprint to leverage new platforms; increase reach to new audiences; and maintain and keep pace with industry changes and trends.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for designing and building web pages using a variety of graphics software applications, techniques, and tools.
- Designs and develops user interface features, site animation, and special-effects elements.
- Contributes to the design group's efforts to enhance the look and feel of the organization's online offerings.
- Designs the website to support the organization's strategies and goals relative to external communications.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, electronics engineering or other engineering or technical discipline is required, with 12 years of relevant experience.
- 8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education.
- Requires a strong understanding of web-based technologies and thorough knowledge of HTML, Photoshop, Illustrator, and/or other design-related applications.
