Job description

JOB SUMMARY:

The Service Training Program Manager is a pivotal role within the organization, responsible for overseeing the development, coordination, and delivery of comprehensive Training Programs for HVAC technicians and associated staff. This position requires a blend of technical HVAC expertise, educational proficiency, and leadership skills to ensure that all personnel are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to perform their jobs effectively and safely.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Training Program Development: Design, develop, and update training curricula and materials to ensure they are current, effective, and in line with industry standards and technological advancements.
  • Training Delivery: Conduct engaging and informative training sessions, workshops, and seminars for HVAC technicians, ranging from new hires to experienced staff, ensuring a thorough understanding of HVAC systems, installation, maintenance, and repair techniques.
  • Staff Assessment: Evaluate the skill levels and training needs of technicians and staff, tailoring Training Programs to meet individual and group requirements.
  • Quality Assurance: Monitor and assess the effectiveness of Training Programs, making adjustments as necessary to improve outcomes and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Collaboration and Coordination: Work closely with other departments, such as HR and operations, to align training with organizational goals and employee development plans.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure all Training Programs adhere to safety regulations and best practices to minimize risks and promote a safe working environment.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay updated with the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in the HVAC industry to continuously enhance the Training Programs.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILTIES:

  • Emergency backup for field technicians on job sites if the need arises.
  • Tech support backup (coverage for PTO time if the need arises).
  • In-depth knowledge of HVAC systems, tools, and best practices
  • Ability to clearly convey technical information to individuals with varying levels of HVAC knowledge
  • Ability to motivate and guide technicians and trainees.
  • Aptitude for addressing learning challenges and technical issues in HVAC systems.
  • Curriculum Development: Skills in developing and updating training materials and programs.
  • Proficiency in using training software, Microsoft Office, and other relevant computer applications.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Technology, or related field.
  • Requisite experience, certificates and training will also be considered.
  • Relevant industry certifications.
  • Extensive experience in HVAC systems and training.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in curriculum development and educational methodologies.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
  • Climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting
  • The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data, viewing computer terminal, expansive reading, etc.
  • The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions
