Job Summary

Scottsdale Community College (SCC) is seeking a full-time Administrative Specialist Sr. This position will provide advanced administrative office support, secretarial support, and/or program coordination activities as directed by the program manager and/or department chair. Assists with activities around enrollment, social media, outreach, production support and purchasing. This position will also work on special, strategic projects at the direction of the program manager and/or department chair.

Essential Functions

20% - Class scheduling interface and input at the direction of the assistant chair/ department chair/ program manager

20% - Schedules, prioritizes, coordinates and performs administrative office support activities related to meetings, events or office services

20% - Assists with research, gathers information and provides coordination of activities and administrative support of projects, programs or services

40% - Receives and responds to inquiries and information requests, resolving issues or referring requests to appropriate resources. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate's Degree from a regionally accredited institution and two years of administrative office support or related experience providing a wide variety of secretarial, administrative office support and/or administrative coordination activities.

OR

An equivalent combination of the conferred degree and directly related full-time work experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered.

Desired Qualifications

1. 1+ years of experience in a front facing administrative support role, preferably in an arts and/or culture related organization

2. 1+ years of experience of internal/external customer service experience, preferably in an arts and/or culture related organization

3. 1+ years of experience with computer software such as Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite (especially spreadsheet and/or database applications) preferably in a Mac OS environment

4. 1+ years of experience actively collaborating/supporting a diverse, multi-functional team

5. 1+ years of experience in one or more of the following: Maintaining complex accurate and/or confidential records (electronic and physical), monitoring budgets, preparing requisitions, invoicing, or maintaining financial records.

6. Effective written communication composing standard office communications such as email, letters and reports as demonstrated on your cover letter. (See Special Notes on “How to Apply”)

Special Working Conditions

• Travel to campus during the interview/selection process will be at the candidate's own expense.

• Will be required to travel or be assigned to other MCCCD locations.

• May be required to work evenings and weekends.

• May require prolonged periods of sitting and viewing a computer screen.

• May be required to lift or carry up to 25 lbs.

• This position requires a physical presence on campus

• Will be required to work in an area of light to heavy noise levels daily
