Summary of Job Duties:
Administrative Specialist II in the School of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Human Sciences. This position is available at the University of Arkansas Pine Bluff, located in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. The Administrative Specialist II works under the general supervision of the Director, Center of Excellence, Dept. Aquaculture and Fishers. Duties include serving as the receptionist and perform general clerical duties that include, but are not limited to, processing paperwork (letters, monthly reports, manuscripts, purchase requisitions, job requisitions, memos, manage time and leave, filing, ordering supplies), operating and requesting repairs for office machines and farm equipment, pick-up and deliver mail from campus, serve as key operator for copy and fax machine and other duties as assigned by center director. The individual should be responsible and self-directed.
Qualifications:
Formal education equivalent to a high school diploma, and must be able to operate general office equipment. Applicant must have skills in the use of computer software packages including database and spreadsheet software, such as Excel and Access; word processing skills and be able to use MS Word, must be able to exercise good judgment in supervisor's absence; exercise courtesy and use tact when dealing with the public; and must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with professional staff and associates.
