Administrative Specialist II.
The
Administrative Specialist II position is responsible for monitoring the administrative caseload by theentering and the managing of monthly reports in Kentucky Offender Management System (KOMS).
The position willcomplete record checks on each offender, communicate with offenders, offender families, Department ofCorrectional staff, various state's Department of Corrections staff, Probation and Parole offices and theCourts. All communications should be accurate and organized. This position will be trained.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Ensure continued compliance with accreditation standards and correctional policies.
- Enter fees payments and reporting notes in KOMS.
- Review reports from courts and parole board
- Process required notifications to the courts, probation and parole officers and supervisors.
- Assist with the daily correspondence received from KY field offices as well as the other 49 states and3 territories.
- Review new arrests.
- Maintain all Policies and Procedures required for the KY Dept. Of Corrections.
- Complete and maintain required training associated with job duties.

- Ability to work in an office setting and within all deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and have displayed the ability to complete work related activities in aprofessional manner.
- Ability to multitask with a proven history of sound decision making in high stress situations.
- Display the ability to think critically and analyze data to forecast positive outcomes.
- Ability to adapt to the ever-changing needs of the Department and Division.
Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION:Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS:One year of professional, administrative, or business experience.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE:Additional education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION:Additional administrative, business, research, and/or clerical experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.):NONE
Working Conditions
Incumbents working in this job title primarily perform duties in an office setting.
Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
