The San Diego dispensary, which has an adjacent space, shares its love of cannabis through unique events and educational exhibits.
PRIMARY PURPOSE AND FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE:
This position will report to the Director of Operations and collaborate with other departments routinely.
The Bookkeeper will be responsible for managing all accounting and invoicing functions for the store with over 100 brands. This includes processing invoices, managing accounts receivable and accounts payable, reconciling financial statements when needed. Also, tracking, filing, organizing, and dissemination of information to the Management and Ownership team as requested. The Bookkeeper is responsible for all AP/AR, Payroll, and P&L reporting.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Daily AP/AR operations: process invoices from vendors, ensuring timely and accurate payment. Maintaining a good vendor relationship. Reconcile vendor accounts on a monthly basis.
- Manage accounts receivables, credits, accounts balance. Maintaining accurate records of transactions and documentation.
- Prepare and reconcile financial statements monthly. Ensure timely and accurate monthly financial statements.
- Assist with metrics and other KPI’s for management by generating reports to assist with budgeting, forecasting, and other areas of business. Conduct revenue data analysis, and any financial reporting to assist and ensure our success; annual reports, operating budgets. Presenting these reports in a timely manner.
- Review general ledger account of transactions for accuracy & work with external cpa when needed and with Director of Operations to ensure alignments with financial objectives.
- Prepare payroll duties accurately and within the required time frame when needed.
- Adapt to new tasks and responsibilities as the business grows and evolves. Proactively communicating and engaging in bettering systems and processes when needed. Perform other related duties as needed. Always ensuring compliance with California’s laws and regulations.

- Proficient in accounting software (i.e. QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration required.
- 2+ years or more of related experience required.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, talk, see and hear. This position requires sitting/standing at a computer for very long periods. This job operates primarily in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, video conferencing, mouse, and keyboard. This position is a 30-40hrs a week and typical work hours occur Monday through Friday and between the hours of 9 am and 5 pm but may also occasionally occur outside of typical work hours including some evening and weekend work.
