The Administrative Assistant is responsible for the day to day administrative and clerical activities for the faculty/departments. The Administrative Assistant is responsible for initiating and coordinating the clerical, administrative, and secretarial functions required for the effective operation of the academic departments.

- Assists with general administrative tasks for the OT department.
- Greet, assist, and document visitors to the School of Occupational Therapy office
- Assist the Director to maintain records for assessment activities
- Assist with duties as designated by the faculty and/or Director of School of OT
- Prepare for meetings, transcribe minutes, and distribute minutes
- Compose and edit correspondence
- Receive, sort, and distribute mail
- Order and stock supplies and equipment
- Operate office equipment including but not limited to computer, copier, facsimile, printer, and calculator
- Answer phone and take messages
- Duplicate and distribute materials
- Maintain schedule for conference rooms and classrooms through EMS
- Create and maintain departmental documents (excel, word, power point)
- Assist faculty and students in various tasks
- Assist the Director with departmental budget-related tasks
- Handle travel requests and expense forms
- Exercise confidentiality when handling all student and faculty concerns
- Participate in student recruitment and admission processing
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED
Experience:
- Previous Experience with Microsoft Programs
- Customer-service orientation
- Ability to interact with the public and accomplish tasks
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to multi-task
- Computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Database, Calendar Program)
