Our Services
We are a free clinic in Charleston, SC. At Barrier Islands Free Medical Clinic, we treat patients for all of their primary care health needs, including diabetes, hypertension, coronary disease, depression, and more. Our on-going primary care is provided to our patients just like any typical family practice, but at no cost.
Duties
- Provides administrative support to the Executive Director (ED) and serves as liaison to the Barrier Islands Free Medical Clinic (BIFMC) Board of Directors and Board Committees.
- Communicates day-to-day with and for the Clinic's ED; demonstrates/executes professional business writing/correspondence; manages telephone inquiries and requests effectively; manages email communication as requested by the ED.
-Serves as the ED's liaison with members of the BIFMC Board of Directors (BOD), its officers and committees; provides assistance with preparation of monthly BOD agendas; manages board member rotation protocol at the direction of the BOD President;
-Assists ED and Director of Donor Relations with administrative duties related to fundraising including event planning, assists with annual events including the golf tournament, fashion show, clay shoot and "we Care" campaign and other initiatives;
-Communicates and coordinates regularly with the Clinic's Director of Development and Communications;
- Provides administrative support to the ED in scheduling meetings and preparing correspondence;
- Responsible for notifying volunteer applicants of their application status and next steps required;
- Backs up Administrative Office Manager assisting with onboarding new volunteers including background check procedures;
-Responsible for administrative tasks related to the Clinic's PTO policies;
Assists ED with updating and developing BIFMC policies and procedures including the maintenance of BIFMC/SCFCA (South Carolina Free Clinic Association) certification documentation;
-Assists Medical Director with special projects and related duties;
-Represents BIFMC to donors, grantors, patients, volunteers and staff;
-Prepares manual and electronic deposits and enter all checks and cash received in e-Tapestry;
-Knowledge of Blackbaud's e-Tapestry as it relates to Clinic business;
-Orders supplies as requested by staff; Office Manager serves as backup
Requirements
- Associates Degree preferred;
- Experience in responsible administrative position preferred; health care administrative experience preferred;
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
-Must possess a valid South Carolina driver's license;
-Must have strong communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills; must be able to work effectively across widely diverse groups
- Strong service orientation and ability to interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 per week
