Position summary:
The purpose of this position is to provide extensive support to the operations of the Athletic department. Primary responsibilities include procurement, game day operations, athletic medical claims, online ticket operations, and assisting with athletic eligibility.
Position responsibilities:
- Creating and maintaining a professional, service-oriented office environment and ensure that the functions of the office run smoothly and efficiently.
- Supporting the director by performing related office duties such as scheduling meetings, answering the phone and sorting and distributing mail for the department.
- Communicating regularly, effectively, courteously, and professionally with staff, students, parents, and fans in person, on the telephone, and via e-mail.
- Processing purchase requisitions and supporting procurement needs for the department.
- Organizing game day operations, special events, and other related duties assigned by the director.
- Processing athletic medical claims for payment.
- Administering the College’s online ticketing system.
- Assisting the director with NJCAA eligibility certification, including processing of letters of intent and compiling and maintaining student-athlete files.
- Preparing various reports, materials, and other projects as requested.
- Evening/weekend overtime hours required as needed for athletic functions.
- Other duties as assigned.
- During non-peak times for Athletics, the professional support assistant will assist other Student Services offices as needed.
- Associate’s degree in Office Professionals or related degree required. Extensive related work experience will be considered in lieu of formal education.
- Minimum of 5 years related, full time work experience, preferably in an education setting. Supervisory or office management experience preferred.
- Extensive computer skills to include Microsoft Word and Excel are required.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be able to work in a typical office environment and get along in a courteous and professional manner with a diverse group of faculty, staff, students, and fans.
- Must be able to work independently and handle high level of stress.
- Must be organized, confidential, expedient, tactful, and even tempered.

- Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office and classroom environment.

- Compensation for this 12-month position is $30,160
