The Campaign Against Hunger (TCAH) is one of the largest and most robust anti-hunger advocates in New York City. TCAH’s mission is to empower its neighbors to lead healthier, more productive, and self-sufficient lives by increasing their access to nutritious food and related resources. It has an annual budget of $25 million ($15 million in in-kind donations), 78 staff, and is looking to expand its dynamic team.
Position Summary: We operate a warehouse facility that stores and distributes food supplies to support our mission. We are currently seeking a Warehouse Admin Assistant to join our team and support our operations.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for managing warehouse services by
- Organizing operations and procedures to ensure smooth functioning of the warehouse.
- Controlling correspondence and ensuring timely responses to inquiries.
- Designing and maintaining efficient filing systems for easy retrieval of documents.
- Reviewing and approving supply requisitions to ensure adequate stock levels.
- Properly assigning and monitoring clerical functions within the warehouse.
- Implement procedural and policy changes:
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and implement changes accordingly.
- Collaborate with management to develop and implement new procedures and policies.
- Coordinate with other departments:
- Liaise with the Accounting and Janitorial departments to ensure office equipment and supplies are procured in a timely manner.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of office supplies, replenishing stock as needed.
- Manage relationships with partners:
- Formulate new partnerships and communicate with partners regarding necessary documentation and any changes within the Food Distribution Center.
- Prepare and collect Customer Sign-in sheets, MOU documents, and notices for partners as required.
- Maintain physical customer files for a minimum of 3 months.
- Prepare operational reports:
- Generate daily invoices for pickups and deliveries based on provided menu by the Inventory Control Associate.
- Prepare operational reports to monitor efficiency, including Weekly Data Reporting, Brooklyn FDC Deliveries/Pick-ups, and Food Hub Report.
- Verify appointments and manage the O Drive folder:
- Ensure appointments are met and rescheduled as needed.
- Manage the O Drive folder, organizing and maintaining documents in an orderly manner.
