Job Summary :
The Administrative Assistant I perform a range of general clerical and basis bookkeeping responsibilities; oversee routine and advanced duties of other managers, employees, and the senior minister; work closely administrators to organize files, create correspondence, and prepare reports or documents. This role is critical to smooth and efficient operation of the department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Answer phones and greet visitors.
· Schedule appointments and maintain calendars.
· Schedule and coordinate meetings; book travel as required
Primarily, with input from the senior minister, create and publish the Sunday Bulletin and other special programs
· Read analyze incoming memos, letters and other correspondence to determine their significance and distribute appropriately.
· Write and edit communications such as memos, emails, invoices, and reports.
· Maintain accurate and timely records of certain financial transactions.
· Ensure completeness of check logs and disbursement records.
· Maintain and store records either electronically or as hardcopy as needed within the department.
· Maintain financial security by upholding internal controls.
· Create and distribute weekly newsletter and other special communication to church members and other followers; contribute to social media platforms.
Qualifications:
· Experience with church or non-profit accounting(preferred)
· A high school diploma or equivalent and five year of clerical/secretarial experience, or bachelor’s degree. (Required)
· Proficiency in various computer software applications. (Required)

Technical Skills:
· Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint),
· Willingness to learn at entry level or currently have familiarity with various internet-based functions, systems and software applications e.g. Vanco, banking software, accounting packages
· Experience with the CDM+ Church Management Tool is a plus
· Ability to use computers, copiers, phone systems and other office related equipment (required)
· Openness to explore new functionality and tools to enhance productivity
