Hancock County Government is seeking a qualified individual for the position of Emergency Management Agency (EMA) and Airport Administrative Assistant. This position is responsible for providing clerical assistance to the Director of EMA and Airport Manager. Duties may include but are not limited to, accounts payable and receivable, office work, and knowledge of computers.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
The Administrative Assistantassists both the Airport Manager and EMA Director with a variety of administrative tasks, including but not limited to: bookkeeping, scheduling, marketing, and public information, payroll functions, recordkeeping/filing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash receipting, and answering the telephone.
· Monthly reconciliation of bank statements & accounts receivable
· General knowledge of departmental financial reports in the General Ledger
· Occasional work on reconciliation of any special revenues, grant funds and / or escrow accounts and any other related functions pertinent to the success of all departments.
· Payroll
· Excellent communication with county colleagues, external stakeholders, and the public
· General knowledge of various office technologies including TRIO Accounting System
· Microsoft Office and Microsoft Outlook.
· Working with confidential information
Minimum qualifications:
· 19 years of age
· Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent
· Valid driver’s license
· Ability to perform various office tasks (filing, photocopying, scanning and data entry)
· Ability to work independently
· Ability to lift 25lbs from six (6) feet high shelf
· Ability to maintain confidentiality
Preferred qualifications:
· A minimum of a two (2) year degree in bookkeeping, accounting, or related field is preferred with at least three (3) years of relevant experience
· Strong computer skills- Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
· Competency with numbers, payroll, data entry and data analysis

Pay: From $19.52 per hour
