The Administrative Assistant (assigned to Housing Rehab & Development) provides administrative support to both the Weatherization and Housing Rehab programs. The person in this position is often the first point of contact for our customers and is expected to be professional, organized, and technically competent with both data entry and MS Office products.
Pay range: $15.00-$16.00/hour
Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week.
Location: Owego, NY (on-site required)

- Answers phone, schedules appointments, directs calls and clients, takes messages, provides reminder calls, follows up with missed appointments for Housing Rehab & Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP).
- Sends and receives client applications for Housing Rehab & WAP. Ensures ALL documentation is received and completed properly and informs program participants of required documentation needed for program eligibility.
- Processes applications and assembles job folders or client folders according to program requirements
- Contacts program applicants to confirm eligibility for Housing Rehab or WAP.
- Supports the Housing Rehab Project Manager in maintaining client files and client calls
- Enters Housing Rehab, Radon & WAP clients’ information into Central Intake System
- Minimum High school diploma or equivalent with two years of experience in a business office setting.
- General knowledge of offices procedures and equipment
- Moderate level experience with MS Office products
- Data entry skills
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to handle routine administrative details independently, including the composition of letters and public notices
- Must be accurate, conscientious, and have a capacity for detailed work
- On-site attendance is a requirement of the position.
- Working hours at programs operated by the agency will generally correspond to the needs of the participants and the purpose of the program, with flexibility for work/life balance as the program allows
