DESCRIPTION
A small consulting company seeks an individual to be the team’s Administrative Assistant. The employee will be part-time at 20 hours per week with salary commensurate with experience. The position is based in Cambridge, though much of the work will be remote.
The position will be flexible, based on the company’s needs. While you are not required to have experience in disaster response or the housing sector, an interest in those fields or a desire to learn about them is preferred.

Qualifications:
- Minimum of two years of administrative experience
- Ability to develop and implement effective organizational systems
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize workload, manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously, and execute tasks with urgency
- Ability to exercise good judgement
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Must have excellent attention to detail
- Must be proactive and self-motivated
- Must be resourceful in independently identifying and solving problems
Responsibilities:
- Track team projects to make sure deadlines are met, including communicating with the team to follow up on tasks and maintain transparency
- Manage firm correspondence (email, phone, mail) and identify and appropriately flag urgent matters for Managing Director and Program Manager.
- Provide administrative support for meetings and special projects, as assigned
- Maintain online filing system
- In partnership with the accounting team, manage bill payments and contracts, and firm invoices
- Support complex schedules, both personal and professional for Managing Director, including scheduling meetings and appointments, and assisting to coordinate personal and individual appointments
- Review and edit technical documents, and manage work with vendors, to ensure consistency with firm standards
- Support Team schedules and travel
- Assist with hiring paperwork and on-boarding process for new staff
- Logistical planning and organization of large meetings, including managing attendees, coordinating vendors, on occasion
- Maintain strict confidentiality

Our small and effective team focuses on public policy in the areas of social service provision, poverty, and emergency management. Our current projects include disaster response, federal policies around the provision of sheltering and services, and rapid rehousing.
Our team has been involved in addressing some of the biggest natural and public health disasters of the last two decades. We have decades of experience operating steady-state human services and housing program portfolios at the national, state, and local levels. During deployment, our team swiftly establishes situational awareness, identifies system and resource requirements, and implements change inside highly dynamic environments.
