The position of the Accounts Receivable/Payable Assistant is responsible for day to day processing of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable transactions to ensure finances are maintained in an effective, up to date and accurate manner.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Administration:
- Prepares work by gathering and sorting documents and related information.
- Enters invoices into Accounting System after verifying transaction information; preparation of check disbursements as directed by CFO.
- Verifies vendor accounts by reconciling statements and transactions.
- Obtaining authorization of payment.
- Entering of cash receipts into Accounting System.
- Work with CFO on insufficient payments; preparation of credit memos.
- Collects revenue on customer delinquent accounts.
- Handle Vendor telephone calls and maintain vendor files.
- Maintains financial security by following internal accounting controls.
- Makes adjustments to accounting software as directed by CFO.
- Maintains financial historical records by filing accounting documents.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- High School Diploma, computer keyboarding skills, detail oriented, ability to respond to requests effectively and efficiently
- Basic Knowledge of accounting
- Excellent computer skills and strong problem solving skills
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), required in order to effectively communicate with co-workers, management, customers and outside vendors via phone, face to face and electronically
- Qualified applicants must pass a background check
- Efficient with Microsoft Office Products, QuickBooks, Data Entry Skills, and possess General Math Skills
Preferred Education/Training:
- Associates degree in Accounting helpful. Significant experience in accounting may substitute for education
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
