Summary/Objective
The Accounts Receivable Clerk will provide direct support to the head of accounting in matters relating to incoming payments and deposits to the agency.
Essential Functions

· Makes calls to customers and employees to gather needed information and respond to requests in a professional manner.
· Utilizes the agency management system to record payment receipts and utilize reporting.
· Use Excel to update reports for administration.
· Completes monthly reports in agency management system for CAO
· Inputs deposits into QuickBooks Desktop Software with proper classifications
· Monitor receipts through banking partner websites and accurately record to AMS and QuickBooks
· Files receipts, and acquires accounting support documentation in alignment with generally accepted accounting principles and department policies
· Grows knowledge of generally accepted accounting practices to prepare for more complex tasks and agency growth expectancy.
· Partners with the Chief Administrative Officer on agency acquisition projects including data entry, verification and premium accounting audits.

This position has no direct supervisory responsibility, however with agency growth this may change in the future.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The duties of this position require regularly lifting items up to thirty pounds.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Some overtime is expected to complete the required assignments. Some weekend event participation is required for marketing and sponsored events.
Travel
No travel is expected for this position outside of occasional errands for banking.
Required Education and Experience
Two year degree from accredited college
QuickBooks
Cash based accounting experience
Two years work experience in a professional office environment
Preferred Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree from accredited college/university in business, accounting or related field
Specialized course work in general office practices, business administration, human resources and/or accounting
QuickBooks Desktop Software experience
Experience using Vertafore AMS360 in an accounting function capacity
Accounts Receivable experience in an independent insurance agency environment
