Accounts Receivable Billing Specialist - No Weekends

Morton LTC is a family owned and operated long term care pharmacy serving over 4000 patients in the greater Fox Valley. We are currently seeking a full time Accounts Receivable Billing Specialist. This position will work as a team, with direct supervision of management, utilizing pharmacy accounting strategies to ensure timely generation of statements and allocation of payment or account reconciliation. Each team member supports the resolution of billing claims.

Ideal candidates are friendly, team oriented individuals with commitment to providing excellent service to our customers. Applicants must have a strong work ethic and excel with time management. Pharmacy experience is required, and long term care experience is preferred.

Shifts are Monday through Friday, 8am-4pm or 9am-5pm. No weekends or holidays are required. This position is a hybrid work environment.

Essential functions of the job:

• Daily report management; High risk, high cost, and claim rejections
• Addressing time sensitive billing needs; Customer requests, formulary and insurance program compliance.
• Profile verification; Verifying patient demographics, insurance payors, and payment model entry on profile.
• Payment preparation and resolution; Prepare accurate and legible facility and patient account statements.
• Account (claim) adjudication; Evaluate secondary payers, overpayments, redeterminations, recoupments, appeals.
• Medication supply
• Returned medication review
• Mange prescription for completeness, correctness, authenticity, legality, and reimbursement eligibility.
• Customer support; Liaison between pharmacy operations and billing practices.

• Language Skills – Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. • Reasoning Ability – Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or other form. Ability to manage problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Work Environment – The work environment that are encountered require the ability to manage inconsistent stressors, interruptions and changing priorities. Ability to multi-task with accurate outcome and maintain professionalism while performing the function of the position. Hybrid work environments are supported. The noise level of the work environment is usually moderate.
• Accounting Skills –Ability to proficiently utilize accounting methods to reflect numbers through the use of mathematical accuracy.
• Application Use – Ability to comfortably and confidently utilize the available applications, programs or provided equipment platforms to in compliance with business needs while preserving patient confidentiality.

Preferred Education/Experience:

Experience in a long-term pharmacy setting is preferred

Desired experience includes: prescription management, customer service related to communication with prescriber offices and external key stakeholders, formulary compliance, medication packaging and dispensing and insurance programs.
