The A/R and Billing Manager reports directly to the Corporate Chief Financial Officer and is responsible for managing CDI’s Billing and Accounts Receivable activities to achieve top performance and minimize the Company’s financial risk. This includes the review of all transactions in Billing and Accounts Receivable for accuracy and procedural issues. The Accounts Receivable and Billing Manager is responsible for ensuring invoices across all product lines are processed in a timely manner and ensuring all cash postings have been properly applied to all customer accounts. The Accounts Receivable and Billing Manager directs and oversees all functions related to the billing, cash, and collections of the Accounts Receivable department staff.
The Accounts Receivable and Billing Manager must project a positive image to CDI’s customers (internal and external) and ensure fully functional operation for the CDI Billing and Accounts Receivable system in a manner that adheres to CDI’s policies, procedures, and expectations.
Essential Functions- Manage A/R and Billing: Including recruiting and evaluation of CDI’s A/R team. Development and administration of departmental goals, objectives, and processes. Assess training needs of team and provide initial or refresher training.
- Ensure billing is completed in an accurate and timely manner across all product lines following rules and regulations associated with the CDFA, FMMO, or other government agencies.
- Fully understand milk pooling rules and regulations related to billing.
- Fully understand export shipment requirements related to billing.
- Review, approve, and/or process credits related to transaction corrections and/or to resolve customer issues.
- Support and assist A/R team as needed in transaction processing.
- Develop and promote integrated processes across departments and functions.
- Develop, implement, and maintain systems, procedures, and policies for the A/R and billing functions to ensure adherence to company guidelines.
- Manage monthly closing of the A/R system module to include preparing end of month balance sheet reconciliations.
- Must have the ability to collaborate well with co-workers, management personnel, customers, vendors, and employees in accordance with the company policies and working rules while ensuring a harmonious and conducive work environment.
- Use initiative and judgment in making decisions, keeping with California Dairies Inc.’s best interests.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- Demonstrated leadership ability to lead an hourly and salaried support staff. Direct reports include A/R Specialists, Staff Accountant, and Sr. Credit and Collections Analyst.
- Travel to other CDI office locations for in-person meetings with direct report staff.
- Ability to schedule and lead meetings via MS Teams to allow entire staff to participate.

Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor's degree Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Accounts Receivable, billing and/or collections.
- 3 or more years of demonstrated leadership experience in team management and talent growth.
- Experience working with GAAP accounting principles and automated accounting systems.
- Large ERP AR and Billing system experience highly desired.
- Strong personal computer and business solutions software skills.
- Strong people skills for interacting with accountants, customers, and executive team members.
- Excellent communication skills for communicating with support personnel and executive team members.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving expertise.
- Good presentation skills for educating internal personnel on accounting principles, practices, and company policies.
- Experience with dairy billing and milk pooling is strongly desired.
- Ability to ensure the confidentiality and security of all financial documents and records.
Language Skills
English is required as the spoken language. A well-modulated tonal volume is required with excellent diction skills needed. This job requires frequent communication with personnel in other CDI locations, CDI customers and regulatory representatives.

Must have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions given in written, oral, or diagram form. Must have the ability to discern when issues may require input from levels of authority within the corporation. Ability to use discretion and manage sensitive/confidential information.
