Location Overview
Crown is building a brand-new manufacturing plant in Effingham, South Carolina. This state of the art facility will produce various size food cans for one of South Carolina's leading Food producers. We are in the process of assembling a dynamic team of individuals. This is your opportunity to join Crown's global organization and we are looking for an Accounts Payable/Storeroom Clerk.
Position Overview
This position will be responsible for the accurate receiving of incoming orders and payment remittance to vendors. This position will also ensure the inventory in the parts stockroom is accurately tracked and supplied with the necessary equipment. This position reports directly to the Purchasing Agent.
$21.30/hour
Duties and Responsibilities-Essential Functions
- Sort and distribute mail
- Answer and redirect incoming calls
- Receive incoming orders against their respective purchase orders in the company system
- Prepare monthly accrual reports for incomplete purchase orders
- Communicate with and send payment requests to corporate accounting for processing
- Coordinate with plant purchasing to resolve invoice discrepancies and order storeroom parts
- Track usage of petty cash and report usage at the end of the month to accounting
- Semi-annual inventory of parts storeroom
- Enter used parts into company tracking system
- Tag incoming parts for tracking and storage in the stockroom
- Adhere to all food safety procedures and measures
- Performs other job-related duties as required or assigned
Job Requirements
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- 1 to 3 years' experience in accounts payable
- 1 to 3 years' experience in inventory management
- Ability to work day shift
Preferred requirements
- Working knowledge of AS/400
Required Knowledge
- Accounts Payable: Knowledge of the general procedures for processing payment to vendors
- Clerical: Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as Microsoft office, managing records, and other office functions
- Inventory: Knowledge of general procedures for inventory management to include counting, tracking, and ordering
Required Skills
- Computer use: Use of computer software to maintain records and communicate plant resource consumption
- Critical Thinking: Use of logic and reasoning to identify potential solutions or approaches to problems
- Customer Service: Display customer need assessment and meet quality standards for service
- Time Management: Prioritize duties to most efficiently accomplish tasks and maintain productivity
Required Abilities
- Communication: Ability to read and write English and interpret spoken direction
- Organization: Ability to maintain an organized work area
Physical Requirements
- Occasional kneeling/crouching required
- Ability to lift 15 pounds
- Frequent sitting for extended periods
Environmental Exposures
- Operating machinery produce at least 85 decibels (dB) of noise.
- The industrial duties of this position may expose the employee to odors, wetness, dirt, and dust.
- The majority of this position's duties fall within a temperature controlled office environment
