The Accounting Clerk's key role is in support of the Corporate Accounting Manager. Incumbent is responsible for providing customer refunds for returned merchandise and computing daily corporate deposit timely and accurately. This position will also serve as a back-up as well as assist Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable.
Responsibilities- Prepare and record daily corporate deposit and provide bank figures on shared drive.
- Record intercompany part purchases between dealerships on a monthly basis.
- Record NSF checks upon receipt and consistently follow-up with managers to collect.
- Issue refund request received from Sales, Service and Parts department.
- Reconcile assigned schedules on a weekly basis.
- Review dealer platform daily to ensure all request are processed timely.
- Maintains the purchase order process schedule. Ensure all PO's are processed timely. Communicate with departments on aging Po's.
- Process vendor invoices daily. Ensure required documentation and authorization is obtained for timely payments.
- Reconcile vendor statements against invoices to ensure that no vendor accounts become past due.
- Maintain working relationship and open communication with vendors.
- Ensure accounts payable records are kept organized and up to date with required forms such as W9.
- Assist with annual 1099 forms are prepared and sent out to required recipients under IRS guidelines.
- Log all outgoing checks released daily on shared drive. Log and prepare Fed-ex envelope.
- Scan checks/payments and support into DMS on a daily basis.
- Complete all assigned task and reconciliations in Blackline on a monthly basis.
- Comply with federal, state and company policies, procedures and regulations.
- Assist Corporate Accounting Manager in month-end close.
- Assist Corporate Accounting Manager with preparation of documents related requested for the fiscal yearend audit.
- Provide coverage and/or assistance for other accounting staff when needed.
- Support management with special projects and/or job related functions as they may arise.
Education:
Associates Degree (two year college or technical school) Preferred, Field of Study:Accounting/Finance, Business Administration or related field.
Experience:
Two - Three years of experience in Accounting.
Computer Skills:
Proficient user of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel). 10-Key Calculator.
Other requirements:US Work Authorization is required.
Ability to work in team environments as well as independently.
Ability to multitask and communicate effectively as well as being highly organized and flexible.
