What you'll do...
  • Works closely with Division Manager regarding safety, production, revenue, and profit.
  • Visit work sites daily giving guidance, instructions, and necessary supplies.
  • Plan and manage production, bid new work, understand revenue targets.
  • Work together with Arborist Representatives to clarify work specifications, coordinate work audits/inspections and address customers issues.
  • Oversee quality control of all jobs and handle customer interactions at jobs sites where needed.
  • Keep manager informed of crew activities, results, equipment problems, employee, and customer concerns.
  • Responsible for purchasing gear/equipment, small tools, etc. as needed.
  • Review the Pre-Job Hazard Survey at each job site; inspect work in progress and ensure it conforms to standards; enforce on the job safety practices.
  • Take lead role in safety to ensure the well-being of employees, customers, and the public.
  • Lead crew through weekly safety tailgates and safety drill.
  • Work directly with Safety Department to ensure all safety procedures are followed and proper safety equipment is being worn.
  • Conduct incident analysis directly after incidents occur, working in conjunction with Safety guidelines.
  • Ensure that employees receive training to prepare for job assignments.
  • Appraise performance of employees to communicate expectations and provide constructive feedback as a means for improvement.
  • Identify and develop high potential employees for leadership succession.
  • Maintain records and documentation related to man-hours; fleet, equipment, and tool use; material inventory and storage; accident/incident reports; property-related permission and permits; customer records; labor disputes; and other job-specific records.
  • Collaborate with the Corporate office for time keeping, billing, purchasing, employee relations, contract support, recruiting, and/or all administrative responsibilities on a weekly basis.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by Division Manager or Regional Vice President.

What you'll need...
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must have a minimum of four (4) years' experience as a Crew Leader or other operational leadership role, or combination there of.
  • Applicable managerial and motivational skills to create a strong team environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and can communicate effectively with the public, customers, and personnel.
  • Able and willing to travel via ground and/or air transportation. Storm emergencies may require extended out of town stay
  • Valid driver's license; preferred valid CDL license.
  • Well-groomed and properly dressed, promoting a professional appearance.
  • Computer proficiency, possess basic operational knowledge including e-mail, word documents and spreadsheets.
  • Knowledge of trees including identification, growth habits and correct arboriculture techniques for the trimming, pruning, repairing, maintaining, and removing trees.
  • Ability to secure ISA Certified Arborist Certification and Certified Tree Care Safety Professional Certification after one year.
  • Knowledge of climbing and rigging skill.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to obtain First Aid and CPR cards.
