Position Overview
We are excited to welcome an Accounts Payable Specialistto our team in Seattle. The Accounts Payable Specialist will experience independence and autonomy in a stable environment at KPFF while enjoying the benefits of collaborating with a supportive accounting team. Monitoring and maintaining effective financial processes to support KPFF's long-term growth will be an important focus of the Accounts Payable Specialist in addition to executing a variety of accounting duties. The ideal candidate is passionate about numbers and brings a positive and customer-focused attitude.
Responsibilities
Vendor Relations and Invoice Processing:
- Foster communication with the Controller and AP team for seamless collaboration on vendor relations and invoice processing.
- Ensure accurate A/P invoice and expense report processing with diligent discrepancy resolution.
- Efficiently manage check runs and ACH payments for timely fund disbursement, addressing payment issues proactively.
- Maintain an organized vendor W-9 records repository for regulatory compliance and swift audit response.
Financial Record Maintenance and Reporting:
- Contribute to month-end close with accurate and timely journal entries for financial record integrity.
- Conduct meticulous monthly GL reconciliations, promptly addressing discrepancies.
- Review and analyze monthly financial reports to provide valuable insights for strategic decision-making.
- Actively participate in annual internal audits, ensuring compliance and effective audit support.
Compliance and Support:
- Adhere to GAAP standards in financial activities, stay updated on accounting standard changes and implement adjustments as needed.
- Provide ongoing technical support and training to team members, contributing to the continuous improvement of financial systems and procedures.
Qualifications
- 1 - 3 years of hands-on experience in Accounts Payable, ensuring accurate and timely financial transactions
- Associate or bachelor's degree providing a solid foundation in financial principles and accounting practices
- Understanding and application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) in daily accounting operations
- Strong numerical aptitude, keen attention to detail, and proficiency in financial data analysis
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word for effective financial analysis and communication

Physical Demands and Work Environment
- This role is onsite in our Downtown Seattle office.
- Duties are typically performed in a normal office environment while sitting at a desk or computer table.
- Ability to utilize a computer, communicate over the telephone, and read printed material are required.
- May occasionally need to lift items up to 20 lbs.
Compensation
The compensation range for this role is $26 - $30 per hour and will be determined based on the candidate's experience, education, and skills.
