Our growing organization is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our Accounting team. The Accounts Payable Specialist will be primarily responsible for all accounting work associated with processing Accounts Payable invoices, check runs, and other duties as assigned.
Essential Functions
- Daily Data entry of invoices which includes verifying accuracy of invoices received
- Processing weekly check run
- Reconciling Customer Statements
- Responding timely to internal and external emails
- Ability to streamline processes and implement automation whenever possible
- Assist with other A/P duties as workload requires, such as:
- Month-end close process
- Audit requests
- Ad hoc requests/projects
- 1099 Processing
- Other duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position does not include any supervisory responsibilities.
May provide cross-training to staff.

Education & Experience
- High School Diploma/GED Required
- Associate's Degree/Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
- Minimum 2-4 years of experience in Accounts Payable
- General bookkeeping/accounting background preferred
- MS Windows, Office and Outlook, Excel and Word
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, including the use of V-Lookups and Pivot Tables
- Other computer software experience helpful but not required: NetSuite and / or Oscar
Work Environment
Usual office working conditions. This position will have a desk space with a computer and a phone. The noise level in the work environment is typical of most office environments with telephones, personal interruptions, and background noises.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, and hear. The employee is frequently required to use their hands. The employee must have the ability to use a computer keyboard and mouse and the ability to dial, answer, and talk on a telephone. The employee is occasionally required to walk and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. This job requires the ability to occasionally work in stressful conditions and remain focused for extended periods of time. Ability to lift up to 30 pounds; boxes, documents and/or other items.
