Accounts Payable Specialist

LHH is partnering with a contracting company based in Long Island City, NY on this temp to hire Accounts Payable Specialist position. You will play a critical role in maintaining accurate and timely Accounts Payable records, including verifying and processing invoices, reconciling vendor statements, and ensuring timely payment of outstanding balances. The ideal candidate for this role has a strong understanding of Accounts Payable procedures. This role requires all work done onsite in their Long Island City offices.
Responsibilities:

Receive and review incoming invoices, ensuring accuracy and completeness of information. Match invoices with purchase orders and supporting documentation. Code and enter invoices into the accounting system accurately and promptly.

Establish and maintain effective relationships with vendors. Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve any discrepancies or issues promptly.

Prepare and process payment batches for approval, including checks, electronic transfers, and ACH payments. Verify payment amounts and ensure timely and accurate payments to vendors.

Review and process employee expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies and guidelines. Verify expense documentation and reconcile with credit card statements as required.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Proven experience as an Accounts Payable Specialist or in a similar role.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with vendors and internal stakeholders.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.

Pay Details: $25.00 to $27.00 per hour
