Accounts Payable Specialist

Position Summary
International Shoppes, New York (Valley Stream, Nassau County) has an exciting opportunity for an Accounts Payable Specialist. This position will play a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of all Accounts Payable transactions related to our Duty Free and Retail operations. The successful candidate will possess strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to maintaining the financial integrity of our operations.
Essential Responsibilities
Invoice Processing

• Review, code, and process invoices accurately and efficiently.
• Verify the accuracy of supporting documentation and approvals.
• Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
  

Vendor Relations

• Communicate effectively with vendors regarding payment inquiries and discrepancies.
• File and report claims to vendors regarding shortages and damages and record corresponding credits.
• Maintain positive relationships with vendors to facilitate smooth transactions.

Expense Reporting

• Process employee expense reports in accordance with company policies.
• Verify receipts and approvals for accuracy and compliance.
  

Payment Processing

• Prepare and process weekly/monthly payment runs.
• Reconcile payment transactions and ensure proper documentation.
  

Recordkeeping

• Maintain organized and up-to-date records of Accounts Payable transactions.
• Assist in the preparation of financial reports and audits as needed.
  

Position Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in accounting or related field is a plus.
• Proficiency in accounting software (NetSuite a plus) and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with internal teams and external vendors.
• Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
