LHH is looking for a full-time Accounts Payable Clerk to join our client-growing company in Bellevue, Washington. This will be a 6 month contract position that is fully onsite in Bellevue.
Job Title:Accounts Payable Specialist
Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team. The Accounts Payable Specialist will play a crucial role in managing the payment processes, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, and maintaining positive relationships with vendors. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Invoice Processing:
Review and verify invoices for accuracy, completeness, and approval.
Code invoices with appropriate general ledger accounts and cost centers.
Enter invoices into the accounting system and ensure timely processing.
Payment Processing:
Process vendor payments through various channels (checks, ACH, wire transfers).
Reconcile payments with invoices and resolve any discrepancies.
Prepare and review payment batches for approval.
Vendor Relations:
Communicate with vendors to address inquiries, resolve issues, and obtain necessary documentation.
Maintain positive relationships with vendors and respond to inquiries in a timely manner.
Expense Reports:
Review and process employee expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies.
Verify receipts and proper authorization for expenses.
Month-End Reconciliation:
Reconcile vendor statements with Accounts Payable records.
Investigate and resolve any discrepancies or outstanding issues.
Recordkeeping:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of Accounts Payable transactions.
Organize and file invoices, receipts, and other relevant documentation.
Compliance:
Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting principles.
Stay informed about changes in accounting regulations related to Accounts Payable.
Reporting:
Generate reports on Accounts Payable status for management review.
Provide financial reports and analyses as needed.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as an Accounts Payable Specialist or in a similar role.
Familiarity with accounting software and financial systems.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel.
Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and best practices.
Associate's or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (preferred).
Compensation: $30-$35/hour
