Human Resources Office Clerk

GENERAL SUMMARY
Lincoln Park Zoo is seeking an Office Clerk to support the Human Resources team in our Administrative office. Our ideal candidate is organized, efficient, professional, positive, and excited to be the logistical anchor of our team. This person loves working on a variety of tasks, is able to keep information confidential and has the professional temperament to interact with individuals of all levels in the institution. While the role sits within Human Resources, it is an administrative role with opportunities to support all members of the Human Resources team. The position reports directly to the Manager of Human Resources.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Coordinate all mail processing at the zoo including receiving and sending mail, delivering mail to zoo buildings via golf cart, and arranging for package pick up as requested.
- Acts as key custodian, issuing keys to zoo personnel and recording and auditing key ownership.
- Coordinate the ordering of supplies and record distribution of supplies
- Create ID cards and nametags for employees and volunteers.
- Update HR SharePoint site as needed
- Post HR related information to online Communities and monitors Communities engagement.
- Compile materials for HR department meetings, employee training, etc.
- Support facilitation of HR meetings by creating IT tickets, facilities and catering requests, grounds and maintenance requests, etc.
- Acts as a relief for zoo Receptionist, receiving visitors and screening phone calls
- Use MS Office tools on a PC, including Email, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Assist in document translation for Spanish speaking employees.
- Administrative support on special projects as needed.

REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum one-year experience in customer service, administrative support, or mailroom operations.
- Available to occasionally support work events outside of regular work schedule, including evenings, weekends or holidays, as assigned.
- Valid Driver's License and ability to learn golf cart operation.
- Bi-lingual in Spanish and English. Written and Verbally

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to sit for long periods of time while viewing a computer monitor
- Ability to work in solitude in addition to an open office environment
- Ability to carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand and walk on zoo grounds for several hours at a time
- Ability to safely operate golf cart
Compensation: $21.63/hr
Schedule: 8a-5p
