Accounts Payable Clerk

General: The AP Clerk is responsible for performing accounting and clerical duties related to the efficient maintenance and processing of Accounts Payable transactions.

Reports to: AP Supervisor

Responsibilities:

• Assemble, review, and verify invoices and check requests
• Flag and clarify any unusual or questionable invoice items or prices
• Sort, code, and match invoices and set invoices up for payment
• Enter and upload invoices into system
• Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments
• Prepare and perform check runs
• Post transactions to journals, ledgers, and other records
• Reconcile Accounts Payable transactions
• Prepare analysis of accounts
• Monitor accounts and statements to ensure payments are up to date
• Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues
• Maintain vendor files / file invoices
• Respond to vendor and store personnel inquiries with a focus on problem solving and customer service
• Assist with month end closing and provide supporting documentation for audits
• Maintain accurate historical records
• Maintain confidentiality of information
• Other duties as assigned

• Candidates must be 18+ years or older
• Complete a pre-employment background check
• Knowledge of Accounts Payable and general accounting procedures
• Experience with accounting software (NetSuite preferred), proficient in Excel and Outlook
• Proficient in data entry and data management (ten key)
• A combination of experience and college education is preferred
