Job Description
LHH is hiring an experienced Accounts Payable Accountant for one of our large retail clients. This position will offer a flexible hybrid schedule in their NYC offices. You will be responsible for managing the Accounts Payable process, including verifying and processing invoices, reconciling vendor statements, and ensuring timely payment of outstanding balances. The ideal candidate for this role has a strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a thorough understanding of Accounts Payable procedures.
Responsibilities:
Match invoices with purchase orders and supporting documentation. Code and enter invoices into the accounting system accurately and promptly.
Establish and maintain effective relationships with vendors. Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve any discrepancies or issues promptly.
Prepare and process payment batches for approval, including checks, electronic transfers, and ACH payments. Verify payment amounts and ensure timely and accurate payments to vendors.
Reconcile vendor statements with Accounts Payable records to ensure all invoices and payments are accurately accounted for. Investigate and resolve any discrepancies or variances.
Review and process employee expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies and guidelines. Verify expense documentation and reconcile with credit card statements as required.
Assist with month-end closing activities, including preparing and reviewing Accounts Payable reports, reconciling accounts, and posting journal entries.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred (or equivalent work experience).
Proven experience as an Accounts Payable specialist or in a similar role.
Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Excel
Pay Details: $27.00 to $33.00 per hour
