Accounts Payable Accountant

Short's Travel Management, a leading provider of collegiate athletic travel, has an immediate opening for an AP Accountant for our Charters division. Responsibilities will include coding and adding expense details to the accounting section in Stack, uploading invoices into our accounting software and setting up weekly vendor payments. The AP accountant will also reconcile credit card payments. This role will respond to vendor questions and ensure we maintain timely payments and a strong vendor relationship.

Essential Functions:

• Vendor invoices are coded correctly and entered daily.
• Payments to vendors and carriers are made within the negotiated timelines and payments are accurate.
• Credit card statements are reconciled monthly.
• Demonstrate a curious mind and willingness to learn new skills with a commitment to continuously improve STM Charters.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office - Proficient in Excel and Outlook.
• Experience with Salesforce is preferred but not required.
• Ability and willingness to learn new programs/processes that may be adopted moving into the future.

Qualifications:

• Possess an associate degree or higher in Business or Accounting
• Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting/bookkeeping OR an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Charter/aviation experience preferred/a plus
