Who we're looking for

We have a rare and exciting opportunity for someone to join our accounting team in West Des Moines, IA as our Accounts Payable Clerk.
We’re looking for someone who is self-motivated, enjoys interacting with people, and likes working in a team environment. We’re open to anyone who is a problem solver, eager to learn, and has the desire to deliver results and make sure our company is handling our AP on time.

What you'll be doing:

This position will be assisting the accounting department by performing various tasks relating to Accounts Payable and vendor payments, maintenance and review of AP subsidiary ledgers, data entry and more.

• Embracing and actively demonstrating Viacore's core values.
• Matching receiving forms with invoices and record the necessary information.
• Check figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper general ledger coding.
• Entering and coding documents according to company procedures
• Learn and understand the corporate purchasing policies, terms, and various payment methods including the P-card system. And be able to assist with related tasks.
• Perform financial calculations such as amounts due, interest charges, balances, and discounts.
• Work with other people in the company such as purchasing, sales, customer service, or management to solve variances and/or set up vendors for payment.

What you'll need to succeed:

• Working knowledge of computers (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet)
• Associate's degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to work under pressure
• Enthusiastic, self-motivated, possess strong work ethic
• Detail-oriented and organized
